As remarkable as anything about Boise State’s 34-18 win over Oregon State Friday was the crowd.
The Boise State pass rush was on a roll into early November, leading the nation in sacks for most of the season. Things have leveled out since—although the Broncos are currently second in the country with 43 sacks.
November 26, 2016: Pittsburgh and Syracuse produce the highest-scoring non-overtime game in major college football history (at the time) as the Panthers win 76-61 at Heinz Field. The total of 137 points eclipsed the 74-62 win by Navy over North Texas in 2007.
November 25, 2006: The most important day to date in Boise State football history, as the Broncos cap an undefeated regular season and ensure themselves a Fiesta Bowl berth with a dominating 38-7 win over Nevada.
November 22, 2008: It’s the first of three matchups between Boise State’s Kellen Moore and Nevada’s Colin Kaepernick, two of the WAC’s all-time greats.
November 21, 1969: The birthday of the most popular Seattle Mariner of all-time (or, at least he’s tied with Ichiro). Ken Griffey Jr. made his Mariners debut in 1989 as a 19-year-old phenom, and played 51 games alongside his dad, Ken Griffey Sr., the following two seasons.
Somebody has to do the heavy lifting every time Boise State’s Ashton Jeanty carries the ball. That would be the offensive line (with an assist from the tight ends).
November 19, 1994, 30 years ago today: Anybody with roots in the old Boise State-Idaho rivalry knows this story. Depending upon what side you were on, it was the thrill of victory or the agony of defeat.
November 18, 2016: On Boise State’s Senior Night, junior running back Jeremy McNichols becomes the first Bronco ever to log three 200-yard rushing games in the same season in a 42-25 win over UNLV.
